NEW! How I Win 97% Of My Bets

Fun and Profit with Greyhound Racing

Quick Tip

Having a day at the dogs? Can't see any straight win bets? Why not try a Trifecta bet?

This bet involves correctly selecting the first three greyhound's home. Obviously not an easy task but rewarding when it goes your way.

To place the bet you need to apply a combination that involves choosing three, four, five or six dogs and cover all possible results. Providing three of your dogs do finish first, second and third, you'll land the Trifecta. Research shows that selecting five or six dogs can stretch the bet a bit too much, whilst only selecting three dogs reduces your win chance by too much. Therefore, this bet uses a four-dog combination - 24 units. You can cut the outlay if you wish to 18 units or even 12 units if you feel that a particular dog or two has little chance of winning by simply placing the bet without the win section for those dogs. The result is a relatively inexpensive way of landing a Trifecta bet.

Greyhound System

Here's a system that involves the study of each dog's form in its last two races over the same distance as the race you are looking to bet upon.

Firstly, look at each dog's history over the last 40 days and highlight the dogs that have had two runs of the same distance as the race you are looking to bet on. Try to use races only as opposed to multiple dog trials and solo trials. If there are no animals that qualify then there is no rating.

Then, (for the most recently isolated race of each dog) award points to the highlighted dogs in relation to the times they put in. 1 point to the fastest 2 to the next quickest and so on until you reach 6 for the slowest.

You then repeat the last step using the second most recent race of each greyhound. Add up all the points awarded in the last two steps - this completes the first part to the system.

The next step is to refer back to the most recent highlighted race of each dog and add the grade of race to the finishing position of the dog in that race - write down the resulting figure.

Now repeat the last step using the second most recent outing of each dog.

If a trial race has to be used for the last two steps, simply look at the number of runners in the trial. Then add the number of runners less than six in the trial to the dogs finishing position in that trial. For example, if it were a three-dog trial, you would add three to the dogs finishing position in that trial. If a dog placed second in the trial, you would rate it as having finished fifth.

Finally, add up all the points earned from each step. The dog with the lowest number is the animal that has performed best in recent times.

You can simply back the dog with the lowest rating, or use this as a starting point for a professional analysis.
